In a report on the news it stated there was a suit filed against the Ab Circle Pro. The Ab Circle Pro is a workout machine which claims you can lose up to 10 lbs in two weeks by using the machine for just three minutes a day. The award at the time of the reporting is up to $25 million dollars. Wow, that is a heavy price to pay to make a buck. Now the report concluded with these words… “The only thing the Ab Circle Pro is good at lightening, is your wallet. Each machine sells for $250 dollars.”
What it comes down to is the Ab Circle Pro falsely advertised what it can accomplish in just three minutes a day regarding weight loss. Yet, Dr.’s and other weight loss people have been saying for years you have to exercise at least 20-30 minutes per day, 3-5 days a week to lose weight. Three minutes a day? Who hijacked the truth?
Because of the amount of the award, I’m guessing a lot of people thought the Ab Circle Pro would take care of their weight problems, which it did not. It seems people will do or say most anything to have their product sold. But it also seems people are always looking for the quick fix or are willing to believe something that flies in the face of reality.
Have we come to a point in time where it is okay to “stretch” the truth? Is it okay to lie in order to make a buck? For me, it appears the people who do not tell the truth are the same people who other’s find hard to trust. To be a person of integrity means to be a person who speaks the truth… all of the time. I know in this day and age it seems more okay to stretch the truth… but like the Ab Circle Pro, there is always a price to pay.
You are absolutely correct, Paul.
