Mission Opportunity in Appalachia
The Mission Team is planning a week long trip to Tennessee this coming June. Mountain T.O.P. (Tennessee Outreach Project) is an interdenominational, non-profit Christian Mission affiliated with the Tennessee Conference of the United Methodist Church, dedicated to rural life ministry in the Cumberland Mountains of Tennessee. They seek to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of people through the love of Christ.
There will be two opportunities to serve. One is on a team for home repair and renovation and the other is in Summer Plus – a day camp for teens consisting of different workshops allowing them to experience a Christian community. The camp dates are June 21 – 27, 2015. We will carpool and need to leave on the 20th as it is a twelve hour drive. We could return in one day depending on the needs of those going.

The world certainly hasn’t slowed down. If anything, the pace, intensity and number of distractions have only increased. Brokenness and pain seem to have increased as well, with news of civil war, poverty, broken families and sex-trafficking touching us daily.
The urgent need for prayer is clear, but busyness still keeps many of us from finding time to pray.
Two truths haven’t changed in all these years: God is the same powerful, just, holy God he’s always been; and true prayer―prayer that changes us and allows us to participate in God’s work in the world―can’t happen on the fly.

The Annual Fall Trustee Work Day will be on Saturday, October 24th, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Please bring your tools and lend a hand as we prepare our building and grounds for the upcoming winter months.
As in the past, we are planning the Annual Family Halloween Fun Fest. The fun will be on Sunday, October 25th, beginning at 3:00 p.m. Costumes are encouraged and we will have food, and activities to match the season. You won’t want to miss the hayride through Hartland.
