Children’s Sunday School
For 2013-14 there are be two Sunday School classes:
- Preschool – First Grade
- Second Grade – Fourth Grade.
Both classes will begin after the Children’s Message during worship service and last until the service ends at 11:00 am.
Youth Group
The HUMC Youth Group is a place for youth grades 5th and up to engage in Christian education and fellowship. A lesson relevant to teen life and connected to Biblical learning kick off the Youth Group time, followed by snack and a team building activity. Youth Group offers students an opportunity for inviting friends into the church and promotes the relationship among the youth and with leaders of the church.
Since 2009, the HUMC Youth Group has been supporting Juan, a boy from Guatemala. The money that we send through Compassion International provides food, clothing, books and Christian Education for Juan, his parents, grandparents, and three siblings. We also send birthday and Christmas presents.
Adult Classes
Adult Church School is a lively group of adults who gather once a week from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m. in the Church Library (first floor, center west side). About 8 to 15 people attend, some every week, some not as often, and include long-time members of the church, as well as newcomers to Hartland UMC. Every adult and young adult is welcome to join the group. Bring your beverage, Bible, and something to write with; books are provided at cost and reimbursement to the church for the cost of the book is very helpful, but not required.
We promise to begin and end with prayer. We promise to start as close to on time as possible and we will end on time, as we hope that this group’s participants are also the liturgists, communion preparers, choir members, and greeters!
Our Adult Church School is on summer break and will resume classes on September 8, 2013. For more information please contact Pastor Paul.
Vacation Bible School
At Vacation Bible School the youth leaders at HUMC strive to promote intergenerational relationships. Children of all ages come together to sing songs, play games, and learn about how Jesus wants us to live. This year’s theme was Veggie Tales Family Values with topics like forgiveness, and love. Students learned how Jesus wants us to act within our family – the ones at home and our church family.
